Book fair shut again after brief reopening

After a brief reopening, the Ekushey book fair was shut again for today due to disruption of power connection.
The concerned authorities took the decision of shutting down the fair from 6:30pm today as they could not provide power connection to the bookstalls.
The announcement came through loud loudspeakers around 5:30pm.
Earlier, authorities reopened the fair for visitors for an hour from around 5:30pm after the rainwater logged in the fair compound was removed.

In the afternoon, visitors were barred from entering either premises in Bangla Academy compound and Suhrawardy Udyan for one and a half hours due to bad weather after the bout of rain caused water-logging.
The tin-structure north fence of the fair compound in Suhrawardy Udyan has been damaged, said Jalal Ahmed, member secretary of the book fair committee.
The month-long Ekushey book fair remains open for the visitors between 3:00pm and 9:00pm from tomorrow.
