Muktamoni recovering well: Doctor
Muktamoni, a 12-year-old girl who is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) as doctors found a tumour in an artery of her right arm, is apparently recovering well following the surgery.
She returned to her cabin in DMCH's Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) this afternoon, said Samanta Lal Sen, coordinator of DMCH's Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit.
Another biopsy of her right hand has been done and the report would be available by tonight, the doctor said, adding that the medical board on Muktamoni’s treatment would decide on the next steps of her treatment after receiving the report.
Muktamoni’s father Ibrahim told The Daily Star that she was doing well and her wound was healing.
On August 12, doctors removed a three-kilogramme tumour from her abnormally swelled right arm in a surgery.
Muktamoni, hailing from Satkhira, has been afflicted by the disease mainly in her right hand, the condition leading to her hand swelling up like a bee hive.
