Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-10) members today claimed to have busted a factory of manufacturing fake currency in Dhaka’s Kadamtali area.

Members of the elite force arrested a couple with seized around Tk nine lakh fake currency notes and unfinished fake rupee worth around Tk three lakh, said a press release of Rab Headquarters.

A team of Rab-10 led by its deputy director Major Md Ashraful Haque also recovered Tk 50,000 cash, one lakh Indian rupee making rope, four cell phone sets and some fake money making equipments, which will be able to make around Tk five crore, the release said.

The arrestees are identified as Sumon alias Sagor, 37, and his wife Husne Ara, 35. They used to live in a house in Natun Rajabari area of Kadamtali.

Legal action is underway against the arrestees, the press release said.
