Bus helper arrested for verbally abusing DU female student

Police arrested a bus helper last night over verbally abusing a Dhaka University student on her way to the capital’s Gabtoli from Manikganj.

Mamun, a helper of Shuktara Paribahan, was held in Manikganj, said Faruqul Alam, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Mirpur Darussalam Police Station.

Earlier, the geography student of DU filed the case against him with the police station under Women & Children Repression Prevention Act, said the OC.

Mamun did so when she did not allow him to sit beside her, police quoted the case statement as saying.
