“If anyone breaks traffic rules and causes difficulties for the public then stern action will be taken against them regardless of their status in society,” said Asaduzzaman.

“I request, all politicians, high profile businesspersons, bureaucrats, lawyers and other elite persons of the society to maintain traffic rules,” he added.

Besides, the commissioner requested everyone including drivers to maintain traffic rules and warns drivers against using mobile phones while driving. Action would be taken against anyone found doing so, he added.

The DMP commissioner also urged car owners to ensure all the paperwork of their vehicles were updated.
