Preserving the tradition of pottery
In the Madan Akhra Palbari in Munshiganj's Daniyapara, around 50 families can be seen working round-the-clock, with the men, women and elderlies all coming together to make clay pots. Carrying this business forward for four generations, the families have been crafting these pots, usually for curd and sweetmeat, to be used in sweet shops across the country throughout the year. During the winter, the demand for these pots increases further as various social events, especially wedding ceremonies, are organised in this season. The prices of these pots range from Tk 11 to Tk 25.
