A cry for water
Over 100 families of at least 90 Mro neighbourhoods in Bandarban and its foothills face a severe water crisis almost every year, especially from January to May. The unabated extraction of stones from springs and streams -- the main sources of water there -- has caused them to dry up. All that is left for these families during this time are small trickling streams of water from rocks or the groundwater surfacing from crab burrows. To collect water from the streams, the locals have set up small brick chambers near the rocks.
