Entrepreneurs’ fair and seminar mark Global Entrepreneurship Week at CU
A two-day Entrepreneurs' Fair 2025 and the Entrepreneurs' POV 2.0 seminar were organised by Hult Prize at Chittagong University (CU) as part of a week-long celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week at the campus.
This year's observance featured a seven-day programme comprising an online podcast series, a one-day seminar, and the two-day Entrepreneurs' Fair, aimed at promoting innovation, youth leadership and entrepreneurial thinking among students. The fair was held on November 19 and 20, from 10 AM to 4 PM each day, at the Buddhijibi Chattar on the university campus. The closing ceremony took place on November 20 at the Social Science Auditorium.
The event was formally inaugurated by Prof. Dr Mohammad Shamim Uddin Khan, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) of CU. The fair featured more than 30 stalls, where young innovators exhibited a range of ventures, including food products, clothing, creative handicrafts and other entrepreneurial concepts. Organisers noted that such initiatives play a role in encouraging an entrepreneurial culture within the university community.
Alongside the fair, the Entrepreneurs' POV 2.0 seminar was held at the Social Science Auditorium. The programme included a show debate that engaged participants in discussions on youth entrepreneurship and innovation. Speakers delivered addresses highlighting how entrepreneurial initiatives can contribute to sustainable and impactful change.
The events were arranged by the Hult Prize at CU organising committee for the 2025-26 tenure. The committee is led by Campus Director Khaled Mahmud Onik, with Kazi Muhaiminul Islam Munaj serving as Chief of Staff and Karin Saffana as Chief Strategist.
The programme was attended by several national and student leadership figures, including Aminul Islam Sharif, National Coordinator of Hult Prize Bangladesh, and Md Abid Shaharia, National Community Coordinator. Also present were Ibrahim Hossain Roni, Vice-President of Chittagong University Central Students' Union (CUCSU); Ayobur Rahman Tawfick, Assistant General Secretary of CUCSU; and Tanvir Anjum Shovon, CUCSU Research and Innovation Secretary.
Distinguished guests at the seminar and closing ceremony included representatives from entrepreneurship networks, corporate organisations and academia, who shared perspectives on sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation.
