Philippines' CARD-MRI delegation visits ASA University Bangladesh

A four-member delegation from the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development – Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD-MRI), Philippines, visited ASA University Bangladesh (ASAUB) to discuss opportunities for academic and institutional collaboration.

The delegation was welcomed by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S.M. Rezaul Karim, who chaired the meeting, according to a press release.

The visiting team was led by Dr. Edzel A. Ramos, president of the CARD-MRI Development Institute. Other members included Dr. Dolores M. Torres, senior adviser to CARD Bank and CARD-MRI, Dr. Lorenz Banez and Dr. Flordeliza L. Sarmiento.

During the meeting, Chairperson (In-Charge) of the Department of Public Health Dr. Jesmin Akhter presented an overview of ASA University Bangladesh, highlighting its academic programmes, research activities, institutional achievements and future strategic priorities.

An interactive discussion and question-and-answer session followed, during which Professor Dr. Abu Daud Hasan, director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), and Mohammad Saifullah, assistant director of IQAC, responded to questions from the delegation. Mst. Zinat Tara and Delowar Hossain also took part in the discussions on academic quality, institutional development and higher education.

The meeting concluded with both institutions expressing their commitment to strengthening academic cooperation, promoting knowledge exchange and exploring future opportunities for international collaboration in higher education.
