Dhaka stocks extend losses in morning trade

Shares on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) fell in morning trade today, extending their losses for the second consecutive session.

The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, decreased 7.76 points, or 0.15 percent, to 5,108.12 by 12:18 pm, according to DSE data.

The mood was negative across the board as both the Shariah-compliant DSES and the blue-chip DS30 declined.

Turnover, an indicator of investor activity, reached Tk 246 crore at the time.

Market breadth was negative, with 113 issues advancing against 197 declining, and 86 holding steady.
