Dhaka stocks edge up in morning trade

Shares on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) rose in morning trade today, extending their gains for the third consecutive day.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, increased 5.90 points, or 0.10 percent, to 5,515.51 by 12:02 pm, according to DSE data.
The mood was mixed across the board: the Shariah-compliant DSES inched up 0.07 percent to 1194.97, while the blue-chip DS30 went down 0.04 percent to 2,133.48.
Turnover, an indicator of investor activity, reached Tk 348.23 crore at the time.
Market breadth was positive, with 202 issues advancing against 89 declining, and 102 holding steady.
Among the notable moves, Peoples Leasing and Fin Services shot up 9.09 percent to top the gainers' list, while Fareast Finance & Investment slid 7.14 percent, posting the worst fall of the session so far.
