Chinese trade body CCPIT keen to invest more in Bangladesh

The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade signs deal with Bangladesh China Chamber

The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) has expressed its interest to increase their cooperation in Bangladesh's infrastructural connectivity, biopharmaceuticals, clean energy and agricultural sector.

The visiting representatives of the council CCPIT inked a memorandum of understanding with Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) to explore more opportunities of bilateral trade and investment and to further deepen the economic and trade relations.

BCCCI and CCPIT will explore new thrust areas in order to encourage and facilitate the business communities of both the countries in tune with the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the BCCCI said in a press release.

Emphasis would also be given to strengthen collaboration and exchanges in commercial, legal service, laws and regulations applicable, resolve business, disputes, manage risks and properly address economic and trade frictions through mediation, arbitration and industry dialogues, it said.

The MoU was signed between BCCCI and CCPIT initiated respectively by the leaders of the visiting CCPIT delegation, Zhang Shaogang¸ vice chairman of CCPIT, and Al Mamun Mridha, secretary general of BCCCI, at the latter's office in Dhaka.

Apart from the head of CCPIT delegation, the team included Jiao Junji, vice chairman of China Chamber of International Commerce, and Li Jichen, second secretary of economic and commercial section of the Chinese embassy in Bangladesh.

Gazi Golam Murtoza, president of the BCCCI, was also present.
