UK interested in Dhaka airport’s third terminal ground handling

British high commissioner conveyed London’s interest during talks with the civil aviation minister

The United Kingdom has expressed interest in participating in ground handling operations at the third terminal of Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke conveyed the interest during a courtesy call on Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita at the ministry today, according to an official press release.

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat was also present at the meeting.

During the discussions, both sides underscored the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom, with particular emphasis on cooperation in the civil aviation sector.

The Bangladesh side sought the United Kingdom’s support in further developing the country’s aviation industry, while the high commissioner assured continued backing for the current government.

Cooke also reiterated the United Kingdom’s interest in supporting Bangladesh’s ambition to emerge as a regional aviation hub.
