“Minar will be taken to Feni Mode Police Station tonight from where the investigators will produce him before court,” Azad said.

Ekramul, who was the president of Phulgazi union Awami League, was shot and then burnt alive in his car in broad day-light on May 20.

After the incident, Ekramul’s brother Rezaul filed the murder case accusing Minar, who is also convener of Jatiyatabadi Tanti Dal of Feni district unit and at least 35 unnamed people for the killing.

Police have so far arrested a total of 18 people including Minar for their alleged link with the gruesome murder.

Besides, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) detained Sajeeb, 25, from Birinchi area of Feni Municipality last night for his alleged link in the killing.

Rab also recovered one sophisticated pistol and two rounds of bullets from his possession.

Rab suspects that the pistol was used in the killing mission.

The elite force along with Sajeeb is carrying out raid at different parts in the area to collect more evidence over the murder.
