No takers for Tigers in IPL auction

Six Bangladeshi cricketers remained unsold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 players' auction at Bangalore today.

The names of Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Mahmudullah Riyad, Anamul Haque and Sabbir Rahman were called during the auction and remained unsold, while Tamim Iqbal and Taskin Ahmed were yet to be called in the auction that is still underway. 

All of the Bangladeshi players have a reserve price of 30 lakh rupees.

Two other Bangladeshis, Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan, have been retained by defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad and former champions Kolkata Knight Riders respectively.

Earlier today, Mohammad Nabi of Afghanistan became the first cricketer from his country to be picked to play in the IPL, the professional Twenty20 cricket league in India contested during April and May of every year by franchise teams representing Indian cities.
