Motorcyclist dies in Bagerhat road crash

A motorcyclist was killed and a person was injured after they were hit by a covered van in Sharankhola upazila of Bagerhat today.

The deceased was identified as Mahbub Islam Sunny, son of Rana Majumdar in Haji Lane area of Khulna, reports our Bagerhat correspondent.

Saidur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sharankhola Police Station, said the accident took place in Singbari area of Sharankhola upazila this afternoon.

The injured was taken to Sharankhola Upazila Health Complex, he said.

Police arrested the covered van driver, Mohammad Yunus, and seized the vehicle from the spot, added the police official.

Locals said the biker was hit by the covered van coming from the opposite direction on his way to Khulna.
