Salman-Sonam dazzle in first look for “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” [Watch Now]

A day after Salman Khan shared the first teaser of his upcoming movie “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” (“PRDP”), the grandiose first trailer for the film was released on Thursday on YouTube.

“PRDP” brings back the award-winning director-actor pair of Sooraj Barjatya and Salman Khan together after a gap of 16 years, and Salman’s character sports the same name he did in this three previous outings in “Maine Pyar Kiya”, “Hum Aapke Hain Koun!” and “Hum Saath Saath Hain” – Prem.

Sonam Kapoor’s first outing with Salman promises to have the familiar Barjatya flavours – grand palaces with countless extras captured in gorgeous wide-angle shots, ridiculously extravagant festive weddings, the most typical of romantic Bollywood numbers with colourful backup dancers, and some serious emotional family drama.

The chemistry between Salman and Sonam is somewhat reminiscent of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam”, one of Salman’s career landmarks -- where he was paired with Aishwarya Rai.

An element of twist in the end, that suggests that Salman may be playing two characters in the films, does a fantastic job of keeping the fans guessing. Neil Nitin Mukesh and Anupam Kher are also seen in the trailer.

“PRDP” releases in theatres November 12.
