Moushumi in UNFPA awareness campaign
Celebrated film actress Moushumi has been selected by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA – as formerly known as United Nations Fund for Population Activities) awareness campaign on breastfeeding by all mothers, including working women.
Through this, the actress joins the likes of Hollywood's Angelina Jolie and Bollywood's Kajol and Twinkle Khanna – who had previously been involved in the campaign, speaking about the issue in public service message videos.
The shooting of the video was completed on Friday, under the Department of Family Planning under the Health Ministry – directed by Lucy Tripti Gomes. It will go on air from the first week of April.
About the work, the National Film award-winning actress said “I always feel an urge to do social awareness campaigns; I feel like it's my responsibility not just as an artiste but as a conscious citizen as well.”
Moushumi has been involved with UNICEF and her own organisation – Moushumi Welfare Foundation – for some time now.
