“Jalaler Golpo” at Melbourne film fest

Young Bangladeshi actor Abu Shahed Emon's award-winning debut feature film “Jalaler Golpo” will be screened in the South Asian section of Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Australia, beginning Friday.

Other films to be screened under the section are “Abdullah”, animation

“Burqa Avenger” and “Dukhtar” from Pakistan, “Love Lust, Life” of Nepal and Bhutanese film “Bhara”.

Commercial and independent films from India will also be screened at the two-week festival whose invited guests include Bollywood actors Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Imran Khan and director Srijit Mukherjee.

Emon's film won the best debut work in Jaipur Festival in February this year and then won the best feature film award at Avanca Festival in Turkey recently along with the best actor honour for Mosharraf Karim who plays a lead role in “Jalaler Golpo.”
