3 specialist doctors test positive for coronavirus in Gazipur

Three specialist physicians of Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib Memorial KPJ Specialised Hospital in Gazipur have tested positive for Covid-19.

The doctors have been staying in home quarantine since April 6 after they fell sick, our Gazipur correspondent reports quoting Dr Razib Hasan, director of the hospital.   

The physicians include a consultant of the plastic and reconstructive surgery department, a consultant of the radiology department and a consultant of the nephrology department, the director said.

Samples of those physicians were sent to IEDCR in Dhaka on Sunday and last night it was confirmed that the doctors tested positive for the coronavirus, Dr Razib said.

"Samples of 21 people who came in contact with the physicians were sent to IEDCR. Among them, 15 have tested negative and the result of six others are still pending," he added.
