Voting suspended at 5 polling centres in Sylhet, Barisal
Authorities have suspended voting at five centres in Sylhet and Barisal after allegations of vote rigging and irregularities.
In Barisal, voting was halted at Barishal City College around 12:30pm, our correspondent reports quoting Odhir Ranjan Mistry, presiding officer.
The presiding officer has gone to the Election Commission (EC) and it is not known when exactly the voting will resume at the centre.
In Sylhet, voting was suspended in two of three centres at the Shahjalal Jamia Islamia Kamil Madrasah polling station following a clash between police officials with suspected BCL men over allegedly stuffing ballot papers at a polling centre.
Meanwhile, two other centres in the city -- Shah Gazi Syed Borhanuddin Madrash under ward 24 and Habinandi Government Primary School under ward 27 -- were also halted.
