Two friends dead after truck hit their bicycle in Chapainawabganj

Two students of a polytechnic institute were killed after a truck hit their bicycle in Chapainawabganj Sadar area this morning.

The decease -- Mostafizur Rahman (20) and Minarul Islam (20) -- were classmates at Chapainawabganj Polytechnic Institute.

The victims were returning to their homes on a bicycle after some work at the institution when the accident happened around 11:30am.

As they reached Mahananda Bridge, a truck hit their bicycle from behind, leaving them critically injured, said Mozaffar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Chapainawabganj Sadar Police Station.  

Local took them to District Sadar Hospital where doctors declared them dead, the OC told our Chapainawabganj correspondent.

Police seized the truck but its driver managed to flee.
