Emirates suspends passenger flights from Bangladesh till July 15

Pakistan, Sri Lanka included in ban

Dubai-based Emirates Airlines has suspended passenger flights from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka until July 15, the airline said in a notice.

The notice comes following UAE's directives on entry ban of travellers from these countries to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Passengers who have travelled through Bangladesh, Pakistan, or Sri Lanka in the last 14 days will also not be allowed to enter the UAE from any other point.

UAE nationals, holders of UAE Golden Visas and members of diplomatic missions who comply with updated Covid-19 protocols are exempt from the ban and may be accepted for travel.

The latest announcement comes a day after Emirates said it would suspend all passenger flights from India until July 15.

Recently, Abu Dhabi-based carrier Etihad announced that it will not be permitted to carry passengers from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka or India until July 21.
