Windows 11 update might let you jump between apps using Xbox controllers

Microsoft is testing a new feature in Windows 11 that allows Xbox controllers to switch between applications more easily.
The update, currently available to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel, enables users to open Task View by holding down the Xbox button on the controller, effectively making it possible to tab between apps and games without a keyboard or mouse.
According to Microsoft's Windows Insider team, a short press of the Xbox button will continue to open the Game Bar, while holding the button will now bring up Task View. The long-press function still turns off the controller as before.
The change mirrors work Microsoft is doing on handheld gaming PCs running Windows 11, including its upcoming Xbox Ally devices, which will use the Xbox button to access a streamlined task switcher designed for smaller screens. It remains unclear whether this handheld-specific interface will be available across all gaming PCs.
