SpaceX Vice President Lauren Dreyer met with Bangladesh's Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in Doha this week to finalise plans for bringing Starlink satellite internet services to the country. The high-level discussion, held during the Earthna Summit, signals an imminent technical rollout of the service as early as May.

Dreyer, a 20-year SpaceX veteran who works closely with SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, expressed confidence in the partnership's progress. "We're very close to the finish line," she told Professor Yunus. "I've asked my team to be fully ready for a technical launch by May."

The Chief Adviser highlighted nationwide anticipation for the service, stating, "It's big news in Bangladesh. People are counting down the days. And when the time comes, it has to be a big celebration."

The meeting, attended by senior Bangladeshi officials including Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain and National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman, focused on resolving final operational details before full deployment. Dreyer praised the collaboration as "one of the most streamlined and well-organised initiatives we've been part of".

The partnership may also involve PayPal, another Elon Musk-founded company, to facilitate digital transactions for SpaceX's Bangladesh operations. With technical preparations nearing completion, Bangladesh appears poised to join Starlink's global satellite internet network in the coming weeks.
