GTA 6 delayed again
Rockstar Games has announced a second delay for Grand Theft Auto VI, moving its release date to November 19, 2026. The highly anticipated title was originally scheduled for fall 2025 before being postponed to May 2026.
In an official statement, Rockstar Games explained the decision, saying: "We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realise has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve."
The delay was confirmed during parent company Take-Two Interactive's second-quarter earnings. According to a report by IGN, Take-Two expressed full support for Rockstar's decision, stating the additional time would ensure "an unrivalled blockbuster entertainment experience".
The game will be set in the fictional state of Leonida and feature a return to modern-day Vice City. Anticipation for the title remains high following the unprecedented success of Grand Theft Auto V, which has sold more than 210 million copies since its 2013 debut, creating expectations that its successor would set new standards for open-world gaming.
