Anthropic to triple global workforce amid overseas growth

Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has announced plans to triple its international workforce this year, citing strong demand for its Claude AI models outside the United States, as per a recent report by Reuters. The company will also expand its applied AI team fivefold as part of the global expansion.
Nearly 80% of Claude's consumer usage now comes from outside the US, with countries including South Korea, Australia and Singapore showing particularly high engagement, states the Reuters report. The company's business customer base has grown from under 1,000 to more than 300,000 in two years.
Anthropic will open its first Asian office in Tokyo and add locations in Europe, creating over 100 new positions across Dublin, London and Zurich, adds the report. The expansion follows rapid revenue growth, with the company's run-rate increasing from about $1 billion to more than $5 billion between January and August.
The announcement comes shortly after Microsoft agreed to integrate Claude models into its Copilot assistant, expanding Anthropic's partnership reach beyond its current backers, Amazon and Alphabet.
