Jatiya Sangshad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury yesterday said the government is working as the servant rather than the ruler, to ensure welfare of the people.
The Jatiya Sangsad goes into its 17th session today after a 58-day recess.
A pro-liberation social body submits a memorandum to the speaker of the parliament to press home its 10-point demands including trial of former officers of Pakistan armed forces, who were allegedly involved in war crimes in Bangladesh during the 1971 Liberation War.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury inaugurates the Bangladesh Lounge at UN General Assembly in New York today.
