January box office: Four local films fail to attract audiences

The allure of movies hasn't waned even during the final phase of the OTT era. In fact, the audience’s interest in the big screen seems to be growing steadily. A glance at neighboring India reveals a significant trend: where the box office used to earn Rs 100 crores, it's now reaching a thousand crores.

It is worth mentioning that yesterday three films were released in Bangladesh. Two of the films are local productions, “Kagojer Bou” and “Shesh Bazi”. In addition, the film “Hubba” from the neighbouring country, India, starring actor Mosharraf Karim has also been released in Bangladesh.

Three Bangla films involving Indian director, Bratya Basu’s directorial, “Hubba”, Chayanika Chowdhury’s “Kagojer Bou” and Mehedi Hasan’s “Shesh Bazi” have been released to theatres all across the country today – after a stale three weeks of the new year.
