Reflecting on the piece, Runa Laila shared, “ 'Mast Qalandar' has always been close to my heart. To perform it again in a new style alongside younger musicians has been a rewarding experience, and I am happy that this song finds life across generations.”
“I promise that I won’t take another 10-year gap to release my next album!” jested Shayan Chowdhury Arnob, at the intimate launching ceremony of “Bhallagena” on October 27. This was his first solo album after “Doob”, which was released in 2015. A 10-year gap can be devastating to a musician, even someone of Arnob's stature—times change, styles become outdated, and industries move on. But this is Arnob we’re talking about—he helms Coke Studio Bangla, performs all over the world, and has relentlessly reinvented himself throughout the years, all while keeping his signature, quirky timelessness, which is also evident in “Bhallagena”.
Arnob’s previous albums include “Chaina Bhabish” (2005), “Hok Kolorob” (2006), “Doob” (2008), “Arnob and Friends Live” (2009), “Rod Bolechhe Hobe” (2010), “Adhekh Ghume” (2012), “Khub Doob” (2015), “Andho Shohor” (a mix of old and new, 2017), and “Arnob and Friends 2” (a remake, 2022).
“Coke Studio Bangla” has officially announced that it will resume on August 23, continuing the lineup of Season 3. The announcement follows a teaser earlier this week from Shayan Chowdhury Arnob, who hinted at the platform’s next release.

It has been a couple of weeks at least since the Bangla New Year celebrations, which we lovingly refer to as Noboborsho. However, Coke Studio Bangla’s “Tati” is still dominating playlists. ‘Taanti’, or in this case “Tati”, refers to the craftsperson or the creator of fabrics, who works with the material called taant – depicting motifs, colourful borders, and softness to touch. Especially in this heat, a taant saree or a fatua is always a welcome addition to an average Bangladeshi wardrobe, allowing one to breathe easy and at the same time, look trendy.
The much-awaited teaser for the latest season of Coke Studio Bangla, titled "Return of Magic", has been unveiled today, sending waves of anticipation rippling through the music community.
