AL triennial conference in Lakshmipur begins

The triennial conference of Lakshmipur Awami League is taking place in the district today after a gap of seven long years.

The conference began around 12:30pm at Laxmipur Stadium. AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader inaugurated the event, reports our Noakhali correspondent.

Leaders, activists of the party, and allied organisations had been arriving at the venue in processions since morning

Awami League Presidium Member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Salim is scheduled to address the conference as chief guest. Presidium Member Mofazzel Hossain Chowdhury Maya will attend as special guest and Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif as main speaker.

Organisational Secretary Abu Saeed Al Mahmud Swapan and many others are also scheduled to speak at the programme.

To make the conference a success, various units of the party have been holding meetings for the past few days. Seven sub-committees have been formed to ensure the presence of nearly 50,000 people at the conference.
