UAE opener Muhammad Waseem carried his ILT20 form into the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), hitting a blistering half-century on his return to the tournament to help Rajshahi Warriors beat Noakhali Express by four wickets at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

The victory lifted Rajshahi to third place in the six-team points table with eight points, while winless Noakhali remained rooted at the bottom after six outings and are virtually out of contention for a playoff spot.

This is the seasoned UAE batter’s second time winning the honour, with his previous win coming in April 2024.

The hosts, who had named five uncapped players before the series, showed grit and maturity far beyond their experience, culminating in a thrilling chase of 162 in the final T20I on Wednesday night.
