Bottled liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is now selling for 60 percent more than the government-fixed price on the back of a supply shortage caused by lower imports last month.

Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has cut the prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), sold by private companies.

Consumers will have to buy Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) at a higher price as Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has re-fixed the price of 12 KG LPG cylinder at Tk 1,439 from the existing Tk 1,391 with effect from 6 pm today.

The price of liquefied petroleum gas has increased by 20 percent at retail stores in the country on Sunday, around four days after the prices rose in the international market amid a looming supply shortage.
