After a steady rise in the success rate since its introduction in 2010, the overall JSC examination results this year suffered a significant fall both in terms of the pass rate and the number of highest achievers.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday asked the authorities concerned to give special attention to the academic activities at their educational institutions.

The success rate in Junior Secondary Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations suffers a significant fall this year. The combined pass percentage of the JSC and JDC examinations comes down to 83.65 percent, dipping 9.41 percentage points from last year.

The results of two public examinations will be published today.
