Over the past few years, the economy has been facing tough challenges.
The long-term problems in the economic sector were exacerbated and entrenched during the tenure of the Awami League regime, pushing many issues to the point of no return, said Prof Rehman Sobhan yesterday.
There is hope that the major challenges Bangladesh is facing due to high inflation and the foreign reserve crisis will stabilise gradually in fiscal year 2024-25, but consistency in maintaining a strict policy stance will be imperative to that end.
