Members of the cabinet committee on law and order yesterday came down heavily on police for torturing a Bangladesh Bank official and a staff of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), saying those incidents had tarnished the image of the department.
Three cops including a sub-inspector of Uttara Pashchim Police Station are suspended over allegation of harassing a businessman and taking extortion money from him on Sunday night.
