Bangladeshi shooter Robiul Islam finished 15th among 22 competitors in the qualification round of the men’s 10m air rifle event at the Asian Shooting Championships in New Delhi on Friday.

Shooter Robiul Islam is still awaiting the government order (GO) required to take part in the Asian Shooting Championships, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from February 2 to 14.

Bangladesh Shooting Sport Federation (BSSF) officials on Wednesday admitted to mistakes after previously describing media reports as "planned, motivated, baseless, confusing propaganda, lies and defamatory information" during a press conference.

Robiul missed out on the eight-shooter final round by 0.3 points after scoring 628 points in the qualification round. Fathur Gustafian of Indonesia, who qualified as the eighth shooter and earned an Olympic quota place, scored 628.3 points in qualification round.

All three pistol shooters failed to transform their practice performance to the Asia Olympic Qualifying tournament with below-par performances in men's and women's 10m events in Jakarta yesterday.
