Bangladesh’s information technology (IT) exports grew 13.54 percent in the first five months of fiscal year 2025-26, buoyed by accelerating global artificial intelligence (AI) adoption and the widening digitalisation of services, according to government data.

More efforts needed to increase and diversify IT exports

Information technology exports from Bangladesh crossed a major mark in the last fiscal year as local firms and freelancers earned more than half a billion US dollars for the first time from external sources. 

Information technology (IT) exports from Bangladesh are snowballing as global clients have swamped local IT companies with orders for various software, data processing and other digital service solutions.
