Oman, featuring in their second-ever T20 World Cup, will be hopeful of going past the group stage for the first time, especially now that they are co-hosting the marquee event. Oman are unique to all the other 15 teams participating, in the sense that they are the only side to have named a squad without any reserve players. Led by the veteran Zeeshan Maqsood, Oman backed players with experience as 11 of their 15-member squad played in their successful qualifying campaign two years ago. Oman will kick off their campaign against Papua New Guinea in the T20 World Cup curtain-raiser on October 17 in Muscat.
