A couple of moments of magic from Rodrygo and Brahim Diaz helped Real Madrid edge city rivals Atletico Madrid 2-1 in the first leg of the last 16 Champions League encounter between the sides at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.
Defending champions Real Madrid had the opportunity to extend their lead in the dying minutes of the match but failed to find the net. That means Los Blancos will travel a mile across to the Metropolitano next week with a narrow one-goal lead. Will that be enough for Carlo Ancelotti's troops to cement a place in the quarterfinals or will Diego Simeone's soldiers stage a comeback to throw out their rivals?
