Manjurul willing to face investigation

Former manager and selector of the Bangladesh women's cricket team, Manjurul Islam, has said he will face any forthcoming investigation and present his side of the story after being accused of sexual harassment by former national team captain Jahanara Alam.

In a Facebook post on Friday night, Manjurul addressed the controversy that erupted after Jahanara's explosive interview on a YouTube channel on Thursday, in which she levelled serious allegations of sexual misconduct against him.

"Former national women's team captain Jahanara Alam has made some serious allegations against me in an interview given to a YouTube channel on Thursday. Since then, journalists and well-wishers from home and abroad have been trying to contact me to know my response. Questions have also been raised about my silence," Manjurul wrote in his post.

Following the allegations, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced that it would form an investigation committee to look into the matter. The committee is expected to submit its findings within 15 working days.

"This is undoubtedly a positive step," Manjurul added. "If any government or state authority also forms an investigation committee, I will face that as well and present my statement. Until then, I prefer to refrain from making further comments on the matter. I hope the true facts will emerge once the investigation report is published."

He also urged everyone not to share or circulate unverified information before the official findings are released, adding that he would speak to the media after the committee's report is made public
