Paraguay's ecstasy, Germany's agony

Star Sports Desk

Paraguay scripted one of the World Cup's greatest upsets as Orlando Gill inspired a dramatic 4-3 penalty shootout victory over Germany following a 1-1 draw in Foxborough. Julio Enciso's first-half header stunned the four-time champions before Kai Havertz restored parity. Germany thought they had won it in extra time, only for Jonathan Tah's goal to be ruled out by VAR. Gill then saved twice in the shootout as Jose Canale converted the decisive penalty, condemning Germany to their first-ever World Cup shootout defeat.
