Four in four for Sylhet
Sylhet Strikers continued their unbeaten run in the Bangladesh Premier League by registering their fourth consecutive victory with a 62-run victory over Dhaka Dominators in the days' second fixture at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.
Courtesy of Towhid Hridoy's third consecutive fifty of the tournament, Sylhet registered the first 200-plus total when they posted 201 for eight in 20 overs after being sent to bat.
Hridoy continued his fine run and top-scored with 84 off just 46 balls, including five sixes and five fours. Najmul Hossain Shanto also struck a half-century (57). Pacer Al Amin Hossain picked up three wickets while Taskin Ahmed bagged two for the bowling side.
Dhaka, in reply, lost early wickets before skipper Nasir Hossain and Mohammad Mithun added 77 runs for the third wicket. Both Nasir and Mithun, however, were dismissed on forties as Dhaka never looked like chasing down the huge target and ended up being all out for 139 in 19.3 overs.
Skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir picked up two wickets each for Sylhet.
