As the year comes to an end, relive some of the most unforgettable moments from across FIFA's global stage.

From a landmark debut of the FIFA Club World Cup that sent shockwaves through the sport, to a packed calendar of top-tier tournaments, 2024 delivered drama, passion, and spectacle. Youth competitions, beach soccer, and futsal also stole the spotlight, showcasing the game's diversity and its rising stars through striking, unforgettable images.

Guatemala's goalscoring god
The first tournament of the year didn't come until May, but it was certainly worth the wait. Guatemala clinched their maiden FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup™ win with a 4-3 success over hosts Seychelles, with Manuel Gonzalez netting all four.

Sealing the seventh
Brazilian beach soccer had been chasing a sixth star for more than ten years before they clinched it at UAE Dubai 2024. A year later, they became the first team to secure a seventh FIFA tournament title and the first side to retain the beach soccer crown since 2013 as they beat Belarus 4-3 in Victoria.

Ustari stars in Club World Cup opener
The first-ever FIFA Club World Cup™ match was played on June 14 at Hard Rock Stadium, as Inter Miami took on Al Ahly. Herons goalkeeper Oscar Ustari was the man of the hour, beating out Trezeguet's spot-kick to earn a 0-0 draw.

A sky full of stars
Chelsea and PSG met in the final. Ahead of the decider, Cole Palmer and Ousmane Dembele created an iconic image from atop the Rockefeller Centre.

On top of the world
Chelsea captain Reece James lifts the Club World Cup trophy following his side's 3-0 thrashing of the Parisiens in front of more than 80,000 people at MetLife Stadium.

Garguez sends Chile wild
The FIFA U-20 World Cup™ got under way in Chile on 27 September. Ian Garguez led the opening-day celebrations after netting a buzzer-beater winner for the hosts against New Zealand.

Zabiri downs Argentina
Morocco forward Yassir Zabiri nets a stunning free-kick to open the scoring in the final against Argentina. He would go on to bag another in one of the tournament's finest personal displays, as Morocco clinched their maiden world crown.

A throne fit for a Queen
The FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup™ began on 17 October, with a record 24 nations travelling to Morocco. Below, Japan's Honoka Sunaga celebrates with the remaining nine outfield players after netting against Zambia.

Korea DPR retain their title
The Korea DPR players celebrate becoming just the second side to win this tournament back-to-back following a 3-0 final win over the Netherlands in Rabat.

25th time's a charm
November 3 marked the start of the FIFA U-17 World Cup™, with 48 teams taking part for the first time. Canada claimed a historic win in the groups, with Marius Aiyenero netting a 98th-minute penalty to secure a dramatic comeback win over Uganda, and their first at the finals in their 25th match.

A national first
James Bogere nets for Uganda in their 1-0 win over France, securing the nation, who were playing at their maiden World Cup, a first-ever win on the global stage. It proved enough to send them through to the Round of 32, where they downed Senegal, before being edged out by Burkina Faso.

Young stars make Portugal proud
Portugal captain Rafael Quintas celebrates with the U-17 World Cup trophy following their 1-0 final win over Austria in Al Rayyan. It marked the first time the nation had won a FIFA football event since 1991, and their maiden U-17 title.

Ontiveros the history-maker
Argentinian star Anita Ontiveros fired home the first-ever FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup™ goal at Philippines 2025. Carina Nunez's shot hit both posts, before the No9 tapped home to secure her place in the history books.

Brazil crowned futsal Queens
Taty Croceta becomes the first player to lift the trophy, as Brazil beat out Portugal with a 3-0 final win in Pasig.

The man of the hour
Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Matvey Safonov is hoisted aloft by his team-mates after saving an astonishing four penalties in the French side's FIFA Intercontinental Cup™ final shootout victory over Flamengo in Doha.

Tannane alights Arab Cup decider
Morocco's Oussama Tannane celebrates with elated team-mates after scoring a stunning goal from inside his own half to open the scoring in the FIFA Arab Cup™ final against Jordan.

Ending the year on a high
