An autumnal outing with cricket

Young boys enjoy a cricketing outing on a ground, covered with kans grass typical for this time of the year, in Sharaighat, Keraniganj on the outskirts of Dhaka. Cricket had seemingly lost some of its appeal among the general populace in Bangladesh following the national team's continued failure since the start of the 2023 ODI World Cup. However, Bangladesh's qualification into the Asia Cup Super 4 in the ongoing Asia Cup and a subsequent win over archrivals Sri Lanka in a thrilling encounter on Saturday seems to have brought back the enthusiasm and heightened expectation among cricket fans in the country.
