Women's kabaddi team clinch historic medal

Bangladesh confirmed a first-ever bronze medal in the 3rd Asian Youth Games, courtesy of women's kabaddi team who beat Sri Lanka 47-40 in Bahrain on Tuesday.
Bangladesh led the first half 25-18. Sri Lanka fought back in the second half but eventually lost the match by seven points. The win helped Bangladesh stay in top four of the five-team competition, ensuring a first-ever medal for the country in any discipline of the continent's youth games.
Bangladesh had previously suffered defeats to India (46-18), Iran (33-19) and Thailand (38-30). India and Iran – the top two finishers of the round-robin stage -- will play for gold-deciding match.
