‘One of the biggest achievements in Bangladesh’s sports’
Members of the Bangladesh cricket team congratulated the national team women footballers after their SAFF Women's Championship triumph on Monday.
Bangladesh beat Nepal 3-1 to be crowned the champions of South Asian women's football for the first time in six editions, ending India's reign of five successive titles. Hosts Nepal, meanwhile, had to stay content with the runners-up trophy for the fifth time.
Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal termed the victory as one the biggest achievements in Bangladesh sports. "Congratulations. Undoubtedly one of the biggest achievements in Bangladesh sports," wrote Tamim Iqbal on his official Facebook page.

Experienced wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim lauded the national team players and the coaching staff for the historic win on his official Facebook page. The post read: "Big congratulations to our beloved sisters for winning the SAAF Championship. Really feeling proud of you all… salute to all the players and support staff."
Pacer Taskin Ahmed also congratulated the team on their success.
"YESSS! Bangladesh made history & clinched their maiden SAFF Women's Championship title with a 3-1 victory over Nepal. Congratulations Girls!," wrote Taskin on his Facebook post.
