Brazilian superstar Neymar will be out for four to six weeks to recover from the latest injury he suffered while playing for Santos against Atletico Mineiro on Thursday, according to multiple reports.

According to ESPN, the booter picked up a fresh hamstring injury in the semimembranosus muscle of his left thigh.

Neymar, who has a long history of injuries, had earlier suffered an ACL injury in October 2023 while playing for Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia. Soon after recovering from it, he suffered a hamstring injury last year, after which he and the Saudi club mutually terminated their contract.

However, the latest injury has taken place in a different muscle, according to ESPN and Goal.com.

The match was set up to be a day of celebration for Neymar as it was his 100th appearance for his boyhood club Santos. Neymar wore a shirt with 100 on his back rather than 10, but was subbed off after 34 minutes due to the injury.

Santos won the match 2-0.
