As part of their preparations for the SAFF Championship in Dhaka this November, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is looking to arrange four friendly matches for the national team during the FIFA window in September and October.

Two or three of these fixtures are likely to be played in Kyrgyzstan, following an invitation from the Kyrgyzstan Football Union (KFU) for Bangladesh to participate in a tri-nation series during that period.

"We have received the invitation from Kyrgyzstan unofficially," BFF president Tabith Awal told The Daily Star on Sunday.

When asked about the federation's preliminary thoughts on the offer, Tabith said, "We will speak to the Kyrgyzstan authorities and reach a mutual decision regarding the September window."

The BFF president had previously stated that Bangladesh would hold a 10-day training camp for the September-October window, beginning on September 21.

Bangladesh previously accepted a similar invitation to a tri-nation tournament in Kyrgyzstan in 2021, where they suffered defeats in both matches, losing 2-0 to Palestine and 4-1 to the hosts.
