Five-time Bangladesh Premier League champions Bashundhara Kings have signed four foreign players, including Argentine forward Juan Eduardo Lescano, who previously played in the youth teams of Real Madrid and Liverpool. This move comes after FIFA lifted the club's transfer ban on Thursday.

Lescano, a 32-year-old centre-forward, joined Liverpool U-18s in 2010 before making his way to Real Madrid U-19s the following year.

The three other signings include Uzbek midfielder Asror Gofurov, who was with the Kings last season, Brazilian defender Daciel Elis Dos Santos, and Ghanaian forward Evans Etti. These signings were completed on the last day of the mid-term transfer window, which closed on Friday.

It was learned Kings were handed a transfer ban by FIFA due to a payment dispute with their former Brazilian forward, Dorielton Gomes. However, the issue was resolved, and the ban was lifted on Thursday.

Currently struggling in the league due to the absence of quality strikers, Kings are in third place with 20 points, seven behind table toppers Mohammedan SC, who have 27 points from 10 matches.

Meanwhile, Abahani, who are in second place with 24 points from 10 matches, have been hesitant to sign foreign players due to the uncertainty over player payment issues. Despite playing all matches without foreign recruits, The Sky Blues have, however, delivered strong performances and maintain a solid position in the league.

Mohammedan SC have reinforced their attack by signing Venezuelan forward Edward Enrique Morillo. He joins Malian striker Soulemane Diabate and Nigerian forward Emmanuel Sunday, who have formed a formidable partnership up top for The Black and Whites.
